Job Overview 

We are looking for a driven and dynamic Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the transformation of NET Power’s FP&A function. You will apply your prior broad-based finance experience to evolve NET Power’s FP&A consistent with a high-growth enterprise. You will design and implement FP&A processes and work cross functionally to deliver accurate and timely financial insights to leaders across the organization.  You will work directly with the Company’s CFO on a day-to-day basis and become a trusted resource to conduct ad-hoc financial analysis for the entire executive team.   

Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Planning Systems & Financial Models: You’ll build stuff. You will partner with the Accounting and Technology teams to design, automate and implement our forecasting and planning tools. We’re on a mission to improve our financial systems and you’ll play a key role in defining requirements and implementing solutions for Corporate FP&A.  
  • Forecast Coordination & Consolidations: You’ll bring order to a fast-moving planning ecosystem. You will manage the company’s annual and quarterly planning process/calendar and corporate-level forecast consolidation. This includes clearly communicating timelines, deliverables, and expectations with all planning stakeholders and executing on the plan.   
  • Management Reporting: You’ll tell stories (financial ones) by developing reports to summarize data and facilitate decision-making for senior management and the Board of Directors.  You’ll own the budget and forecast variance/reconciliation process (monthly, quarterly and annually) to have a pulse on how the business is performing. Additionally, you will monitor business developments, quantify impact and incorporate them into the corporate forecast.  Finally, you will think critically to conduct ad-hoc analysis for the executive leadership team, including evaluation of strategic opportunities and their pro forma impact on the corporate financials.  
  • Long-Range Planning: You’ll help shape our financial outlook and financing strategy by managing a multi-year long-range financial planning process to help align the company around key financial and operational objectives, working closely with planning stakeholders along with financial leadership.  

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Engineering; Master Degree a plus 
  • 10+ years of experience in an FP&A, Corporate Finance or Strategic Finance role at a high-growth company; experience in investment banking a plus  
  • Extensive experience conducting quantitative and financial analysis and developing recommendations based on this analysis  
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to build relationships across the organization including with senior management  
  • Extremely proficient with Excel and PowerPoint  
  • Understanding of energy markets and experience with capital project forecasting a huge plus   
  • A proclivity for working in a fast-paced environment
